In line with our mission statement of practicing a fair business we engage in CSR initiates that are sustainable to all the parties involved. This we have seen as a positive impact to the community and the business.
As a country, we face significant development challenges and hence the need to maximize our potential contribution within the SME sector to poverty reduction and sustainable development.
In a bid to give back to the community, we have ventured into various projects, providing a livelihood to several Kenyan citizens both in the rural and urban areas. Key projects and initiatives launched within the Wamu SR agenda include;
- Sub Letting of Land to out growers at no cost
- Construction of a borehole for access to clean water for domestic use
- Assisting in education of needy children.
Wamu is also very conscious of the environment and its sustainability. Accordingly we have a tree planting campaign within our farms with an aim of planting more than 40 acres of trees within the next 10 years. This will be done in conjunction with the local community to guarantee awareness and sustainability.
